ACTIVITIES

Research Lab
The TIID is currently establishing the first Research Lab of its kind to focus on technological innovations in dying. The Lab will have a physical presence in the Netherlands although its activities will take place on and offline.
Program of Investigation
The Research and Development program (R&D) of TIID is focused upon the use of new and emerging technologies in lawful, elective end of life decision-making.
The R&D program will focus upon the efficacy, acceptability, reliability and peacefulness of various approaches to dying. While some of these foci will be technology-based, others will involve established protocols which are already well known within the right to die movement internationally.
Public Awareness Raising & Education
TIID will initiate an active communication program designed to raise public awareness of its activities and goals. This will include public announcements, the publication of newsletters and other material, the hosting of conferences, participation in other public fora where the vision of TIID is at stake, participation in the public conversation and discourse,
Collaboration
TIID is committed to operating as the research ‘arm’ for the right to die movement both within the Netherlands and internationally. TIID will be available to offer expertise to other organisations while working alongside a variety of groups who offer a similar commitment to practical choice at the end of life.
Policy Input and Expertise
Through its active program of research and development and public awareness and eduction, TIID is well placed to assist and provide expertise to government in policy reform areas.
Fund-raising
TIID will actively seek to raise funds via donations and bequests from members of the public who support the vision, objectives and activities of the Stichting.
